Bleached wenge with rubber bands

Bought some 1/2" rubber bands on Amazon to place on wenge before dropping into bleach for a few hours to create "dark rings." These bands are the perfect size and produced a nice tight seal.

I let the pieces dry and lightly sanded again.

Yeah, I keep thinking about this one. Wonder if you could get a gradient effect by adding new bands every hour or so.

That's an interesting idea. Let me riff on it: Start with 5 bands next to each other and remove one every X minutes. Hmmmmm. Thanks for sharing your idea!
