I was looking through some photos and found a couple photos of a vase that I turned quite a few years ago.

This is a fairly large piece for me, probably about 8" or so in diameter and maybe 12" or so tall. The tree from which this was taken was bulldozed down due to a fire that burned several trees. The tree grew out in Pahrump, NV, not too far from where my father lives. The trunk of the tree was bigger around than I am, and this was from a limb.

I left the scorch marks on one side, and in the area where a branch was growing out.

Mesquite is such a beautiful wood and wonderful to turn! Obviously, you know this and your turning resulted in displaying the woods beauty, including the 'scorch' mark! Nice to look back on earlier turnings and remember the enjoyment of your craft. Thanks for sharing and safe turning always!
