Blanks or Firewood

I wanted an opinion form everyone. Blanks or firewood.

Edit: It is Oak I believe. Came from a tree taken down during windstorm. It does have a slighty decaying smell. Some where between spoiled milk and a ***** diaper.

Hard to tell from here, but looks promising...but it all boils down to how you feel. If you like it, go for it.

Can't tell the pics are too small and blurry... what kind of wood is it.. looks like it might be walnut

It does look promising....and maybe some spalting going on there as well.

I'd say cut it, turn it and see. Once turned you'll know. After all once burned it's gone forever and how much time would it take to find out anyway.

you are right. It is from the same Oak from earlier post. I think it is red Oak. Sure looks red to me. Smells bad though.

I got some walnut from off our land. Some is figured kinda nice. Whenever I drop a branch or tree of most any species, I run the saw down one of the logs and see what's there
