Just thinking about this. Wonder if anyone would be interested in available blank suppliers.

They could be wood, cast, segmented, bullet, anything unique, etc.

If interest is shown, I'll create a poll with those added to this thread.

I'd include individuals with a solid reputation, actual web based suppliers on this site or not.

Maybe not Amazon or Etsy, not sure here.

What are your thoughts?

I'd be interested for sure.

I'm not sure I would exclude Etsy, but rather ask for specific sellers on Etsy. There are some really good ones out there.

Recently, some of the best suppliers I have found are on Facebook Marketplace in private groups that appear to be well moderated.

I think you'll find it difficult to avoid some sources such as Etsy. I say this because it might be the only "store" some sellers use.

If you think about it, businesses like Cook Woods are like out parcels whereas a seller at Etsy is like a tenant in a mall. Same with facebook sellers.

When you get right down to it, those are not really different than the sellers who market thru the IAP other than this is probably the preferred social media site for many of us.

I actually bought some blanks off Amazon. Such as bog oak and a few other very nice looking blanks. They are basically a second party seller but wherever they get the source it still goes through the Amazon system.

Good Point, if an individual is identifiable on Etsy or Facebook, these may be OK to include.

I have (somewhere) a private list with quite a number of suppliers for things like this.

Some quality blank suppliers I trust:

Flower Girl Blanks
Stadium Pen Blanks
Cocoon Blanks
Speakeasy Pen Emporium
Leaping Lemur Craftworks (not sure if he has created a formal website yet but he said he was working on it when I saw him last)
Bullseye Turning Supply
Cobb Brothers Woodworking

These are some I can think of off the top of my head. Will get you more once I recall all of the business names.

Thanks Markus,

This is a great start.

I'm working on a form and questions for the blank makers. I'll contact all of these and many more that I've found here and on Facebook.

I'm hoping blank makers/sellers on IAP will add themselves to this thread.

Markus,

Do you have email or other links that I can use to contact them?

I usually make my own blanks but if I am looking for something special, I will go to woodbarter.com. I use Cousineau Wood Products if I am looking for spectra ply blanks and only when the run specials like this past weekend.

Greetings to all blank creators,

I'm contacting actual pen blank makers and possible resellers, if they have a large selection of styles available.

I want to create a list of makers to post on the IAP forum www.penturners.org , No cost, just information for our penturners.

I have created a similar list of pen suppliers.

If you know any other blank makers, please forward them to me.

Attached is a preliminary form that I will maintain for blanks suppliers.

Note, that Personal Emails or Phone numbers will not be included in the Chart on the IAP website.

A preferred link supplied would be the buyers contact for communicating with the seller.

Please add your Information to the attached chart. (txt, pdf, xlsx)

I will soon answer each of your personal emails.

Questions: Contact Wayne at:
libman At penturners Dot org

Thanks for your participation!
