As part of the award for the Youth contest I received two blanks that I am not sure about. (Thanks, Minnesota IAP for the blanks.) I tried to look them up via the internet, but still am not sure.
One is marked clausia and I cannot find any info on it. The closest I come is with calusia (minus the a) is a tree called Calusia Rosa in Hawaii. It looks like it will be an interesting blank to turn.
The second blank is mark lignotuber. I see that a lignotuber is a bluge at the bottom of a tree and is often associated with eucalyptus.
I like to know as much about the woods I am turning as I can. It helps me spin the tale when I am selling them.
Thanks for your help.
