Blade pen instructions unclear?

Should I press the clicker or not? I thought those Schmidt SKM-88s were indestructible.

NOTHING is indestructible to a sufficiently-motivated destroyer!!
Some pen presses can exert one ton of pressure, more than any hand will manage.

Just a hunch, but I don't think you should press on it.

I've just assumed that Ed rewrote those instructions because he was tired of answering questions from people who'd done it wrong?

I pulled those straight from Berea. Just wanted to see what size drill bit I needed and thought that was kind of funny. The sad part is that they felt the need to say it so many times. They probably got tired of people complaining to them about something the customer screwed up themselves. I could see Ed doing that, though.

There shouldn't be any need to press on the clicker anyway. It threads into the finial so can be installed after the finial is pressed in. Not sure why anyone was pressing on it in the first place that they had to put that in LOL

For many people, reading the instructions is a last resort.
