It's been a while since I posted a bowl. The weather here in New England has been too hot to get out into the shop.
I did however get a chance to turn some free Walnut a neighbor gifted to me and attached is what I found in this piece of Black Walnut.
There's quite a bit of sapwood but I expect this will darken up if I put it outside for a while. I used a 2# shellac for a base to seal and then some Tried and True original for the finish. Cute little bowl, my first 'hollow' form.
These aren't the best pictures I've taken. They were rushed but they're not horrendous.
