Black Tubes Anyone?

With these pens I tried black tubes to see how dark the color would change compared to silver or brass. So far - so good. IMO

Wow and wow. Great work. Did you reverse paint the blanks or paint the tubes.

I painted the tubes with semigloss spray paint (no blank painting yet), light 0000 steel wool sanding. Sounds sexist, but I think the black tubes makes the blank more suited to a guy. Apology in advance if that offended anyone.

I have "re-found" a desire for mesh or dot blanks; people ask for 'em once they see one. They are still hard to predict from blank to finished tube, but oh well.

I have found that when reverse painting "when in doubt black it out" the results usually surprise me with the depth and richness (for lack of a better description) that results.

Great images and really nice pens too. I only reverse paint in blank now. I have some white but it never really covers?

First blank is Cranberry red
Second blank is cocoa mesh
Both are from WoodTurningz

I really like the first pen for it's depth of color and the others are excellent also. Your photos are beautiful IMHO.

Like the dark tubes, very handsome kind of pen. You got some great looking blanks with vivid colors. All are well made pens.
