After quite some time i managed to find some shop time and turned a modified omega pen dressed in black and white (pale moon) ebony. I tried my diy paste wax made from (drs) walnut oil, carnauba wax and turpentine. The result is nice and natural. Any suggestions are more than welcome, cheers.

Lovely final pen. I also appreciate your finish. Some may prefer a more durable finish, but some of my favorite personal pens have little to no finish (walnut oil, etc). I just love the feel of the wood, and many of mine are Eucalyptus Burl with inclusions - I have no interest in those being filled. Appreciate the natural beauty of the blank. 👏 👏

Same here my favourite finish is just walnut oil which is nice but the pen catches grime and dirt after some use. The only solution i found was to make a pair of mandrels so that i can refresh the finish when i want to. Cheers

There are a few other woods that look very similar but B & W ebony is its own wood. Some marble woods look similar, as does Macassar as mentioned by Jarod888 above. Some Zebrawood will have a similar look. Japan and the Philippines brand of Persimmon produces a beautiful ebony in some trees, has some B&W similar to that - at least that is what I have seen in my experience - but it was so long ago, my mind might be confused.🥴

Persimmon is in my list, there is a tree in the family plot that needs to be pruned anyway..
