Lynn,
That is a stepped drill bit so it's definitely a specialty bit. We still carry them if you're interested. It's part number 050-7042. If you're wanting to know the sizes of the steps, they are .275", then .290" and then .346" for the thickest part. It really wouldn't be easy to do without having the step drill bit. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks!

Lynn,

If you are thinking about plastics, be careful!!!!

That little sucker likes to get stuck!!! Drill about a quarter inch at a time and keep the hole full of cool water!

DAMHIKT!!! Many times[:0][:0]

Thanks Nils and Ed.

I ordered both bits late last night/early this morning.

I was hoping to do some wood with the kits. I have some Purpleheart that needs my attention. It is actually wood that came off the ship in a movie that came from my daughter-in-law's father. But thanks for the advice. Now I may have to make one just to see how bad it really is. [}:)]

That classic european kit requires the step drill and an 11/32" bit. That's $30 worth of bits just to get started.....and the reason I decided to avoid that particular kit!!
