SWMBO bought me a birthday present. Well, she did ask for input.
the Laguna 1524 Lathe, with a 20 inch extension which can also be mounted lower to all turning's up to 20 inch diameter. The roller kit so I can easily move it around the shop and the Laguna Light which has brightness and color adjustments. Have it all put together but not 'allowed' to turn anything until we can get the car in the garage.

Very cool. So did the boss specify how far the car has to get into the garage? Without clear instructions you're free to assume 6" is good and you're good to start turning.

Buy a roller curtain and hang in a safe distance behind you from ceiling. Safe as in you have manouvering space between you and it . The shavings / chips etc hit curtain and fall in a line for scooping up. It works .

Also any seriously big bits are slowed / stopped by curtain. DAMHIKT šŸ˜‡
