Since today is my BDay, my boss let me off early. So, I came home to try and finish some pens for a client that I will be seeing tomorrow. I made a delivery last week and they said they would take some more if I had them ready by Tuesday. Over the weekend, I ruffed out three of them, finish one yesterday and finished one when I got home and was working on the third. It was rare that I got this much time, but the wife wanted me out of the house while she worked on my bday diner. Sanded the third down to final dimensions and stopped the lathe to check with calipers. I started the lathe back up and BAM, the motor blew.

I hope Rikon's service is as good as people claim it to be. If not, well, for my bday my wife handed me an envelope, inside was the ship confirmation for the varible speed motor upgrade for my lathe, should be here by the weekend.

My Rikon lathe needed a switch. It was out of warranty and they shipped the switch anyway at no charge....Great customer service!
