That's a cool idea. My friction polish doesn't shine like that.:(
I do equal parts of Shellac/BLO/DNA. I have learned that the higher the grit you go, unlike other finishes, the better the shine. So, I go all the way up 800 grit. Going to get some 1000 grit next time I order sandpaper disc. I also put at least 5 coats on... and more if I think the bowl needs it. And I will let it get pretty hot on each coating. Then let the bowl cool down.
