If there any members on here from Joplin Mo. area I hope you are all safe. My prayers and thoughts go out to all people in the Joplin Mo. area. Looks like the whole town was in a war zone. Been watching the Weather Channel.

I got pretty lucky. It was headed toward us then turned south. The hospital in Joplin took a direct hit though.

They are reporting 90 dead---was that mostly from the hospital?

2000 homes destroyed in six miles???
Wow, tornadoes used to stay on the ground for feet, not miles---maybe we are experiencing "Global twisting"??:eek:

Sad to say that the death total is now up to 116. It's about 70 miles from me and is being reported as the second deadliest tornado in US history.

My wife's sister is in Carthage... haven't heard anything about her yet...

I know it's not much help, but the storm went south of Carthage about 8 miles. 7 people were killed at the hospital. They are saying that 40 or more cell towers and 2 phone relay stations were taken out.
