Dropped the "Freshman" off today. Big step in both of our lives....bet we miss him more than he misses us! Kinda like that earthquake the other day....scary, exciting, potentially expensive....

definitely expensive. And yes he does not miss you much today but give it a little time and he will miss mom. Dad, not so much, but mom yes.

I can still remember my freshman year in college. I was the one in school but it was my folks who were the ones who got smarter. Okay maybe they were smart all along and I just needed some life lessons to open my eyes to that fact. I also gained a greater appreciation for mom's cooking after a few meals at college.

We dropped off our daughter for her freshman year Monday. It has been tougher on us than her I think. I am disabled and home all the time so it's been empty at the house lately. She called Tuesday and wanted a new pen for college. I've made 4 so far...

Good luck and best wishes to you and your family...may be tough now but it will serve them well in their future endeavors.

Have you put any of those blanks to good use yet:smile:

Nothing to worry about Jon. My freshman year was pretty insane. Lot's of alcohol, crazy parties, and wild women:eek:. But I managed to graduate in the top 3 percent of my class.

Actually I need to apologize to you.

I have been so busy I haven't properly got the pictures posted of what you sent in the package. With getting the daughter off to college, getting my parents moved from Virginia to Oklahoma and my wife going back to school, I've been busier than a one legged mule in a butt kicking contest.

Hopefully I'll get some free time next week to set up the camera. I still have the package and all the stuff together to take photos.

...

And having a daughter in her first year of college I really didn't need to hear about the partying, drinking and wild times lmao.

This reminds me of a saying I heard once from a guy.

"When I was 17 I thought my parents were the dumbest people on the face of the planet. When I turned 24 I realized how samrt they were. It is really amazing how much they learned in seven short years."

I'm sure he'll take a liking to Ramen Noodles. Those things are cheap and easy to fix.

PBJ's...boy always has one(or more!) in his backpack. He may need to re-stock...his school is right in Irene's path and their LUAU (yes, luau) got rained out last night...wound up with a bunch of new friends in his dorm making sandwiches....we left him with two loaves of bread and two jars each of PB&J.....gone.....
