These are the first Elgrande and Perfect fits (both chrome) I have made, and at first I was skeptical about the plastic, cheesy looking twist tranny.... but WOW does it make a nice twist pen! They are both already two of my favorite twist pens.
The pic shows up a lot darker on the web than it does on my computer, for whatever reason. Maybe it uploaded goofy or something, but it does show off the right color of the wood.
The redheart is a standard CA/BLO finish, left satin rather than buffed to a gloss. I love the feel of that finish,....oh, if it only would always come out as nice as it did on this pen for me (usually I get a few very super-dull spots that look ugly).
The zebrawood is sprayed with conversion varnish (satin). Normally I fill in the grain a good bit with CA before spraying, but I decided to leave this pen open-grained with the satin finish, looks more like natural wood.
