I have received three mails from three of my friends who say they are stranded in another country and need funds to get home. How do they find the names of people I know but not have frequently mailed for a long time????

John,
They hack your friends' email accounts.

They got my son's--he's a geek. He was locked out of his own email, they had changed the password.

I got an email saying he was imprisoned and needed bail money wired to him (strange he didn't mention it in our phone call the night before!!).

Some of the other people who got that email had NOT talked with him and were truly concerned.

It all worked out, but that was the "scam".

I am running PostIni e-mail filtering at my hosting account level. I never get any of these delivered to my inbox. I do get a spam e-mail report every night and see these things on there all the time but all I have to do is delete the report e-mail from PostIni and never worry about it. It also stops all viruses as well.
