I'm still figuring out how to use the pen wizard, but it's been fun so far! Here is one little tip I came up with: if you turn between centers and you are making a kit you don't have bushings for, get a 7mm tubed blank and cut it in half. Turn it into center bushings and Dremel away! I used a mistake I had from trying a polygon pen. I've still got a lot to learn, but I'll get it eventually!

And yes, I miscounted by one hole on the blank there

Hi Joe, that certainly is an unusual pattern on the pen, how was it done please????
You are right, there is a lot of fun using the Pen Wizard, I find it enlightening as to discover the pattern variations that can be had by using different combinations of gearing.

I'll go out and check how I have the gears later. It's basically doing a spiral every 6 holes, and then use the reversing gear and do it again.

Picture 1: gear setup for first blank.

Picture 2: gear setup for the pen in picture 3. I cut, moved 12 holes, cut again, reversed gears and repeated.

Picture 3: cherry pen with jet onyx for filler.

Edit: Sigh, swap out 2 and 3. Forum runner messed it up.
