Best way to use ren wax

Hey can somebody tell me what the best way to use ren wax is use it on the bare wood or finish it first with deft or the similar and then polish with ren wax

I have ren wax and have used it as a last setp but not sure I see the value-I was told previously that it alleviates fingerprints showing but I dont really see a difference.

What value do others see with ren wax?

I love it! It's a great protectant as well as being a nice, clean polish. I use it after all the finish on the pen has cured and I've assembled it, typically right before I photograph and box the pen up for storage/sale.

Easy to use, and it doesn't leave any build up in the nooks and crannies. I use it on the hardware and everything, and it really cleans up nicely. Once it's totally cured, it makes the pen feel good, like 'new' feeling. Not really slippery or anything, just clean.

Price is only fairly important. I have the small container of Ren and it has lasted me forever. A little goes a long way.
