I was wondering if anyone knows who has the best price for the silicone bottle stopper bottoms...

I have to make 150 or 160 (or more - but hopefully not) of them for my wedding this summer, and I haven't really had a chance to scour the suppliers' webpages yet...instead of duplicating someone else's efforts, I thought one of you might know the best place to buy them...

Andrew

P.S. - anyone know of good ideas for prizes for a wedding social? I think they're called Stag and Doe elsewhere in the world, but we call them socials...I might ask local businesses for donations or discounts, but I don't know what kind of prizes to get for the raffles....big ones like BBQs, or do you normally get smaller ones?

If I remember, Woodcraft had bags of a dozen or so. Don't remember the price,
but I might have some around the shop and you're welcome to them

Can't say I've ever heard of that. The only prize people who came to my wedding got was free food and free beer (good beer too!)

Well, in my part of the woods........a thinly clad lady jumping out of a cake, generally will boost the atmosphere of the men's 'social' and prizes usually become a moot point!!!

Last time I brought something home from a stag I got in trouble. For some reason my wife didn't like the stripper coming home with me.

For some reason I think you may be talking about something different.

The best price i am finding is at CSUSA 5 for $2.99. I'm sure if you call and ask for a better price, they will work with you for that many.

Andrew. You may want to find a small army of volunteers, my friend.

150 wine stoppers will take a while. Find five volunteers, each one does 30 --- problem is smaller.

Hey Andrew,
(great idea Ed!)
If you would like more help, let me know as well. I don't know if I can do 30 (full time job takes up too much time!) but would be willing to do 10 or so!

I believe they are going to be out of mesquite that I gave him as a wedding present! I would be in for turning some of them too, if you need help, Andrew.

Yeah, speak up, Andrew. After all the work you did for the bash, it's the least
we can do. I could do some if you want..

Thanks for the offers to turn some stoppers, guys! I really do appreciate it. I think I have time to make them, though, once Curtis' wood gets here. He was extremely generous and sent me some mesquite as a wedding gift, so I'm excited for it to arrive!

I think I'll be ok as far as turning them...maybe! I might beg for help a bit later when I realize that I'm over my head, but I tend to be stubborn and think I can do everything myself (it's a character defect - or as I like to call it, a personality enhancement!)

Although, Courtney tells me I'm being silly too...and she's as stubborn as I am! (and a whole lot prettier!

Oh, and Bruce - I think the CSUSA ones don't come with the dowels...they show them separate on the web page, anyway...I have to order a bunch of pen kits for my wedding party and photographer and whatnot anyway, so I'll likely just get everything from CSUSA.

(Wow, my list is getting huge - maybe I should reconsider my stubbornness!)
