I've got one complete failure and one that is likely to become a failure as soon as I accept that it just isn't going to work.

I thought I might have 2 or 3 entries. I'll be happy if I can pull of just one at this point.

I've got lots of great ideas. Unfortunately, it seems that I'm lacking the skill to pull them off. Might have to try something a little less ambitious.

I've been trying to finish organizing my garage (shop) while trying to turn some things in the process. The trying to turn seems to falling by the way side as the organization is taking me longer than I'd like. For example, I measured, cut and drilled a bench mount for my slow speed grinder and PSI sharpening jig (Wolverine clone) Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon only to discover that I still put the jig mounts in the wrong place! So this afternoon I turned my attention to something else (see separate post in Shops, Jigs, etc.). But I'm getting ever more close to being completely set up. At least I can get ot all my shop tools now.

It would be almost as much fun to see the failures as the successes! Remember, once the entries close on the 28th, you can go to town posting your entries and failures!

Oh, and by the way, I haven't received ANY entries yet!

Scott.

So far mine hasn't been a failure. I've got the bottom complete. The cap will be much harder. So far so good.... knocks on wood

I just re-read the rules and it is permitted.
So in the immortal words of Gilda Radner's character, Emily Litella........Nevermind.

Well I have a confession to make. When the 1st Sept came and went and the entry form hadn't been posted yet, I thought 'Sod it and Stuff-em' there would be no way an international entry could get there in time. I admit I was a bit peeved. I work away from home on sites from Monday to Friday and couldn't print off the form to include with an entry or two. So I didn't bother making any. I didn't see till recently that the deadline had been extended.
Now on Sunday I'm away for two weeks.:frown:

Oh well, maybe next year  , Maybe...

After using a square method using a drill and on the first voyage of a Artist Sketch pen, I found that the thread on the nib tube end got screwed up when I squared the end. I sit here with a beautiful Manzanita wood pen but cannot screw the body into the threaded tube. Not being one with an extensive array of tap and die set am confounded as to how to clear the threads. Really sorry Scott. I know I was a bit of a pain.

I honestly hope that you get loads of entries and I'm sure the contest will be a big success. I have a feeling that some of the 'quieter' members will enter pens at the last minute, and will really blow us all away.:wink:
