Has been really interesting, it has put my start in pen turning back somewhat. But I've been using my time off as time to reflect and make changes in my life for the better. I'm thinking about going back to school, and when you are in your late 30's. It's a bit intimidating. But as long as I have support of friends and family, we (wife and I) are going to be fine. Also unemployment is nice to have, the mortgage company enjoys getting paid...

Sorry about the rant....:)

I was unemployed for a couple months, but luckily I had my wood and pen stash already aquired. It helped me keep my calm while trying to find jobs.

It has it moments, but at least I have some money coming in from unemployment. And I have 2 interviews this week too...

Something has to hit, if not. There is always college. :D
 
My wife went back to college and graduated at 45 years old. It's never too late for school. Good luck and I hope something comes open for you.
 
When the Information Technology market went in the tank back in 2002, I was out for almost a year and a half. I was 35 no degree, and the job market for my skills were non existent. I went to college on the Georgia Lottery Grant. I only had to pay for school books. It was a tough thing going to school at 35, and I will tell you, it was the best thing I ever did. I took more than full class loads when I was able to, and tried to look for a job. I am happy to report that after the year and a half, I got a job, but continued on with the school one class at a time. Last year, I GRADUATED!!! DO NOT GIVE UP and fight the good fight. Find something that you are interested in and there is a job market for, and stick to it. Good luck with the school thing, and the job thing!
 
I also got laid off when the IT went bottoms up. I went back to school at 32 in order to finish my education. I racked up some student loans but it has been the best thing for me. I am happy teaching and enjoy 99.9% of my students most the time :D.
