I'm a beginner turner and I was asked to do an inlay blank on a sierra pen, no problem. Than the customer (co-worker) changed his order on me. He wants the same inlay blank on a fountain pen, a Jr. Gent. Ok now I have an issue, its a one piece blank so now I have to match that with another blank for the cap. The Inlay is a Drk blue/black dyed maple blank, I've looked and looked and can not find a double dyed BL/BLK blank any where or anything even close to it. Guess I'm going with a stain which is new to me. challenge excepted!

Or another blank that matches the theme of the inlay? I did a piano inlay on a fountain and for the cap I cast small sheet music.

That is a great Idea! just need to figure out what would work.
