Had all kinds of plans to turn a few pens and some turnings for Christmas gifts. However, life threw a curve ball and plans went out the window. Series of nose bleeds, ER visits and, finally, treatment at the doctor's office yesterday. Couldn't do anything for fear of starting things over. Doctor told me to take it easy. So this puts me three weeks behind. Best laid plans of mice and men? Fortunately, Dr. Wife has been most supportive and helpful. I guess I made a good choice 53-1/2 years ago.

Sounds like your nose could use a break from all those CA fumes ;) Get feeling better soon, the wood will still be there when you're ready.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Hope things go great at your follow up next week. I've been on sort of a hiatus from pen turning myself, but I did turn a small oven rack Push-Pull stick for out toaster oven this morning. Follow the doc's orders and take care of yourself! - Dave

I discovered the part of surgery I most dislike is not being able to turn for the prescribed recuperation period. By the end of the two, or three, or however many, weeks of not lifting, not bending, not standing, meaning not getting my fix of time at the lathe - I start questioning whether I should have agreed to it.

A few weeks later I've generally managed to see the up-side of getting things fixed.

Congratulations on your good sense to say "I do" all those years ago - she's most definitely a keeper.
