If your lathe is still under warrantee, Jet will send you a set for free. Recently they have upped the warrantee from two years to five years.
its about 4-5 years old i'd guess. hoping to replace em w/something a little better than the oem from jet.

visexp- went to the site and called em. unless i have a kit # or a size they can't help. thought i'd get lucky and they would know from previous sales what i needed. i don't want to take the old bearings out until i have the replacements as i am using the lathe.

I thought I mentioned the bearing size in my tutorial; but maybe not?? You will need two different bearings.....a 6004 for the outboard bearing and a 6005 for the inboard bearing. They are identified as 6004VV and 6005VV in the JET manual. The VV designation tells you that the bearing is a double shielded bearing. Different manufacturers have different codes for the shields/seals. You may see them also identifies as 6004ZZ and 6005ZZ. Whoever you are buying from will know what to sell you if you give them the 6004/6005 munbers and ask for a double shielded bearing.

those #'s were in the tutorial but i thought they were just jets ID # of the parts, as in maybe the spindle was illustrated in the manual as #1, the bed as #2, the tailstock as #3, etc etc. didn't realize they were actual part #'s. my bad.
