Attended an all day demonstration by Mark Sillay MARK SILLAY that Bayou Woodturners brought in. Think my head's about to explode with new information... Really cool seeing him work.

The guy can whip out a beautiful delicate looking finial in a few minutes. Plus learned some new techniques. Well worth the $20 (with lunch) price tag.

Also scored 10x 7/8" x 6 1/2" Gaboon Ebony blanks for $6! Yep $0.60 each. He buys them 200 at a time and sold them to us as cost. Thought about buying more, but figured I'd leave some for others.

I attended a class held by Mark here in Atlanta a few years back and felt like I really got my money's worth. Mark is a very personable guy and one heck of a professional turner. I really like his style of turning and have since adapted many the ways he taught me. I really need to catch back up with him for refresher class one day.

I am a very lucky dude as Mark resides about 0.5 mile through the woods from my home. He is indeed a very likable fellow and extremely proficient at turning.
