Quite a few have posted here asking questions about marketing, making a living in the pen business, etc and here's your chance to see a couple of good guys (and friends of mine) who started out making kit pens and now have very successful full time businesses in our world. Each has taken a different path, but both can now be seen at major pen shows, have great interactive web sites, and presence on social media. They are a case study in what can go right if you put in the time and effort. I am particulary impressed with how they are able to present a face to a customer in an otherwise impersonal on line experience. Check out Brian Gray and Brian Goulet. I'll be tuning in myself.

Is that Television or online? I can't watch online things..takes all week just to load a few minutes of tv on my computer with dial up.

I do not know Brian Goulet other than seeing him here.

I know Brian Gray. Heck..last show I did, our tables were next to one another. Having experienced his sales marketing campaign many times over, I know that he truly understands how to be in the pen business. He knows what he speaks, and he has a very defined product line. Very smart business man. Me though..I don't want to become that kind of pen maker. Don't take that the wrong way either..I have absolute respect for what he does and the man himself..I just mean that I don't want to be on the business end so much. I want to have fun and do what or make what I want and when I want to do it. Being restrained to a specific product line and taking orders from others is something I don't think I'll ever be able to do. I already have a job. Making things is my release.

This one's on line. Too bad about the slow dial up. Like you, I'm only in this for the relaxation and have no intention of ever going into a full time pen related business. Just thought this would be of interest to those wanting to know how someone can make a living doing this.
