OK Feb has gone by and usually we are wrapping up the annual Bash party and rewarding prices for the many contests that took place. We would have gotten to see many beautiful pens in those various contests but this year we did not have this opportunity. Reasons be told. We would have many members clamoring to get on the "loser train" and pushing their way into the drinking car and some maybe even falling off the train before it even leaves the station but that is not happening this year. My question is sort of twofold here. First is being there was no Bash and who knows what that statis will be moving forward, did you miss it? Did you plan on entering a contest? Did you go ahead with your planned pen anyway and if so will you or did you show it and if so can we see again?
Second part of this is basically to management but a little background first because we have many new members joining daily here. There are so many features built into this site that many get overlooked or not even discovered. I highly recommend all newbies to take some time and browse this site and all the different forums as well as the library and also all the events that happen. One thing we do have here is basically a traveling pen library that represents who we are and some of the talented pen makers have graciously donated pens to this traveling entity which can be seen here https://www.penturners.org/collection/ this is pasted on the front page of the site. The curator of this collection is a member and a volunteer that shows this collection at many of the events. He can fill in alot of the details.

Now I can go into the who, where, whys and how it all got started but will leave to management to better set the records straight because I may mess them up. But over the years we had discussions here about having a so called Hall of Fame pens (outstanding WOW looking pens) and their makers. But that was met with trepidation and we moved on. Then we as a membership decided to somehow show off what we are about at different pen turning events as they became very popular more and more.
Thus the IAP Pen Collection was born and has been growing each year. Again will leave details as to how this happens to Mark or Jeff. But one way was from the Bash contests certain pens and their makers had an opportunity to be included in the growing collection.
So I know it was a long way around to my question but being no Bash this year I assume no addition to collection? Also with Bash Party in the future sort of in limbo and or limited for certain years does this mean the same for the collection?
As I said at the beginning all you Newbies and older folks check out the collection. I won't muddy this thread up with other suggestions for Newbies but may post in another separate thread. Thanks for reading.
