10th Anniversary Casting Contest:
I have the honor of carrying on the casting contests this year. There will be three contests of which you can enter each one with a different pen.
The contests are as follows:
1. Swirls- You can let the resin flow with as many colors as you like. No restrictions to the number of colors. The only stipulation is that the blank must be all resin. Sometimes less is more...
2. Embeds- This contest is a personal favorite. Take an item or items, cast them in resin, drill through the blank and turn it. Let your mind go nuts with what you can put into resin.
3. Tube-on- You will start with a tube, place something on the tube, and cast it. Simple right???
More rules will follow with the official posting of the contest. The main rules are:
1. You must be the caster and turner of the pen presented. No teams allowed unless you would like to involve your kids of course.
2. The pen used in the contest must not appear on the web prior to the start of this contest (Feb 1, 2014) and must not have been used in a prior contest.
3. Pens/blanks made with the aid of a CNC, laser or other decorative lathes are ineligible. Please ask if you have any questions about this.
4. All pens must be on standard pen components. This is a casting contest, not a modified or kitless pen contest. No alterations to the kits will be allowed.
Please ask questions and get that casting bug going!
