If you do a search you will find most people here use the Barracuda 2 (CSC3000C) instead . The price after shipping is only $20.00 MORE and the barracuda 2 is a key operated , the one you are looking at uses Tommy bars so you need 3 hands to easily use it .... well not really but the key operated version really is easier to use and is really worth the $20.00 . Here's where to get it http://www.amazon.com/PSI-Woodworki...ref=sr_du_1_map?ie=UTF8&qid=1290163109&sr=8-1

i agree with butch that the barracuda 2 is a better buy. i disagree that tommy bar chucks are more difficult to use. i have both styles although they are nova chucks. if you watch which holes you put the tommy bars into, it is very easy to operate with only one hand. i have seen several "pro" turners use tommy bar chucks wityh no problems or difficuties.

I just got one( Barracuda 2) and do have noticeable run out on the pin jaws. Not sure if that common or not this is my first chuck.

Other than that I love it.

I operate a Barracuda (not Barracuda 2) easily with 1 3/4 hands (my left hand lost some function when I tried to remove three fingers with my table saw) and it is not difficult to use with the bars. I like it and don't see any need to upgrade to a "cuda 2"
