I chose to make a Cocobolo Baron for a commissioned pen.
I thought a lot about one viewer's comments and decided to make a new pen
for the commission and this morning almost ruined the new one.
It's all Marc's fault ;) -- he said the Cocobolo Baron finish looked thin:

I figured I'd make a replacement and redo the coco when I can make time.
The presentation is Wednesday night and fortunately the buyer has approved the
Koa instead.

But, the pen almost didn't make it:

This is what I did end up with:

In the long run, I think it's a good decision. I have no doubt as to the durability
and depth of the finish on this Koa Baron. And, since I now know how to disassemble
one, I can refinish the Coco in time.

Ooops, forgot about that -- members only.
Marc Phillips, aka WoodMangler, who's also a member here, said the finish on the Cocobolo pen looked kinda thin, and I agreed. I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I made another pen. I won't have time before Wednesday to refinish the Coco one, which is also posted here:
