John,
I think the Jr. Statesman is a different quality kit than the Baron; the Jr. Gents are probably more comparable to Barons.

I personally like much more the Jr Statesman,but the Baron well dressed look good also in fountain nib. I don'tlike the roller boll nib of the Beron.
