bandsawn box

this is my first attempt at making a bandsawn box. i've been wanting to make one for quite some time but i could never get a 1/8" blade to track. i finally got her going and this is the result... kindof a funky shape, but i'm happy with how it turned out. i learned a lot of what not to do next time...

it's cherry and maple boards i had lying around glued up and a curly koa handle. i finished it with a bunch of danish oil, buffed with white diamond and 2 coats of buffed butchers alley wax.

i tried some of that suede-tex flocking for the drawer lining... seems to work nice.

Hi Andrew, great job on the bandsaw box, I used to make a bunch of bandsaw boxs but I have not made any for a few years, now you make me want to go and make some, aloha.

That's the great thing about bandsaw boxes, you can make them funky.

Nice looking box. Bandsaw box making can be an addiction in itself. They are a lot of fun and make nice gifts.

That is great job.. I bought a bigger bandsaw with plans to make some of those... maybe next summer if I find some time.

I think bandsaw boxes are really cool.
