I'am Looking for a new bandsaw and would like opinions on various brands

I have the Grizzly GO555 and love it... good motor, comes with a nice fence and you can get a riser block for it to resaw up to 12".. and right now they are giving a free Timberwolf blade with it... and the price is real sweet also

If you are looking for something a bit more powerful than I would recommend the Grizzly GO513, 2 members of my club have it and it is a real powerhouse with all the features of a lot more expensive saw.. the price is about twice that of the GO555, but it is a lot more than twice the saw ..

I did my research and I came to conclusion that MY best bet will be this ShopFox (W1729 - 19" Heavy-Duty Bandsaw)

Locally, I can get it for less than $1,000 + tax brand new...delivered for extra $25.00. I almost got this one too...but it is not for me just yet. Maybe in a few years I will finally afford one [

You have to look at the over all value...if you cannot afford this then by all means go for a smaller machine. If you plan to upgrade later know that an upgraded machine will not quite stack up with a machine that was designed and built to take heavy duty loads. There are just a few extra features that will not be on the lower end machines.
The bearing guides alone may cost you a few 100 bucks if you decide to upgrade those...small things that comes standard with higher end BS.
If you have a woodcraft store close by...look at the Rikon too. Theem seem to be reasonably priced. A bit more will be Delta and Jet.

Several of us have the 14" HF 32208 (about $220 on sale these days) and some of us have the riser block kit installed. Personally, I love mine! [] For the money, I couldn't buy a better BS. If I were to buy a new BS today, I'd probably have to buy the Fisch 16". I saw one demoed this Spring and was VERY impressed. It has a 12" resaw capability. Unprecedented for this size saw and it was less expensive than the comparable Grizzly's. Two speeds, nice fence, quick tension and release, roller guides and dust collection at the bottom of the lower wheel housing where it belongs.
