I have a Jet clone Grizzly GO555P bandsaw with the bearing blade guides. The lower bearings (the ones on the sides of the blade) are seized and need to bee replaced ASAP. I will replace every bearing on the machine, and the side blade guides are abundant online, but the bearing that sets up behind the blade are not as available. I can buy a set of 10 for $12.95 + shipping, but that would be a lifetime supply.

I need to know if there is a better alternative to using the bearings that won't break the bank. I think I found an alternative on Highland Woodworkingt, but it's a $60 fix.

Take your bearings to a local bearing supplier and they will likely have some in stock. Look in you yellow pages or in the nearest big city to you for the suppliers.
 
I replaced my guide rollers with a Carter set and couldn't be happier. Easier to adjust and the back bearing you are referring to is turned the right way.

That is a issue that I would like to address... considering the cost of gasoline, I would be better off (as far as $s are concerned) ordering 10 units online with free shipping and throwing 8 of them into the wind.

Although I do value your contribution, there is nothing "close" and I need a solution... not speculation.
 
I live an hour or so out of Vancouver and have about 7 places within 25 miles or less of me. Nearest is 5 miles or so. So it's easy for me to go there and get what I need. Even wheel bearings for a truck cost less that half of what the dealer parts department wanted and were on the shelf. They also carry belts, pulleys and the equivalent in chain drive stuff. That's why I made the suggestion especially since you mentioned changing all the bearings which I take to mean the ones for the wheels too.

Out of curiosity I looked for "Bearing Suppliers Benton Arkansas" and you have at least 7. The closest is 18 miles away, on the way to Little Rock, and farthest was 47 miles out. True it may cost more in gas just for the 2 bearings you need but if getting others and heading in that direction for other stuff it could be worth the drive.

Many people have gone to replacing OEM blade guide bearings & thrust bearings with skateboard bearings.

Many reliable places sell sealed or shielded metric ball bearings at less than cost of OEM, some places more expensive. I have paid more for shipping for metric electric motor bearings. I used them for both thrust and blade guide bearings.

Just find a reliable place. My newest set of blade guide bearing bought from a Fastenal store here in my town cost me $3.97 with tax for four 608ZZ bearings. Not sure how long will last but so far so good.
 
Can't help you with an alternative to the bearing. Looks like a 6000zz bearing that you are talking about.

You can find them in smaller quantities on ebay from seller "greatbearings". I just replaced all the bearings on my bandsaw with bearings from "greatbearings". Price was good, shipping was fast and quality (after one month) seems great (I have no connection to the seller, I'm just a satisfied customer).

When I replaced mine I went with 2RS (rubber seals) instead of zz (metal shields). Saw runs much quieter. I calculated the bearing rpms and wasn't concerned about switching from zz to 2RS on my saw.

A pair of 6000 zz (or 6000 2RS) will cost $3.89 (including free shipping).
