I'm having a problem with my Sears 10"band saw the speed i feel is very slow, even trying to cut pine 1/2" board it just seems to be running very slow, the blade actually stops running unless i back off on cut.My tension on blade is good. It's a  brand new saw and I remember when turning on the motor would start up slow then go into real fast mode this is not happening now any help would be appreciated. I have a call in today Sunday but there not available today .
Best Regards,

This may sound silly, but is the blade installed with the teeth facing down? I've seen a few that popped inside-out when they uncoiled where the teeth would have been facing up if I installed it that way.

Otherwise, I can't think of what it might be.

Take it back!!!!!! you have a bad one
1. cutting 1/2" wood should not be a problem.
2. the motor is the problem, I bought the same saw several years ago still have it went thourgh two in two months, they had a bad patch .
I have a Jet resaw band saw, love it still use the sears for small work , get a good one it will last you for years.
Don`t forget to keep it well tuned. wheel, alignment, blade sharp (don`t try to sharpen blade buy new and a good one, don`t go cheap on the blade) you will be sorry
once in a while blow out sawdust..

Hope all goes well!!!

David:rolleyes:

Not a bunch of sawdust with 'junk' on the pulley's?
Power supply on a long run(extention cord under sized)?

Still under warranty? Called Sears yet?

Brand new no saw dust ,no extension cord direct plug in.
I call sears they said take it all apart put it back in box and return.
Now the fun part trying to figure out which way it went into box. LOL
