This morning a user reported that his corporate virus scanner was detecting the Mal/Iframe-W malware on our site. I took the site off-line while I checked to be sure that we were clean. I found nothing.

If anyone else's virus scanner is tripping, please let me know.

Sorry for the downtime.

That goolge malware notice page is causing havoc with a lot of sites and when you contact them about it they need tohave the site scanned by their bots again and can take a couple of days. they are becoming a real nanny of the web.

After our malware issue several weeks ago, Google rescanned us within about 20 minutes of the request. They key is to already have a Google webmaster account and be familiar with those tools. Starting from scratch it probably would take a couple days.

To wrap this up...

The member who reported that his company's malware scanner detected malware on our site this morning was still getting that report when he tried to access our site after I verified that our site was clean.

He reported this to Sophos, they took a look at our site to determine what was triggering their alarm, and now he can access it without issue. So while Sophos has not officially said that it was a false positive, I think it's clear that's the case.

So, false alarm, but better safe than sorry. My apologies for the downtime this morning, but I wanted to make every effort to ensure that we were not infected.

Jeff, I'll take a few hours 'down time' to be safe over risking infection any day. You are Da Man. Keep up the great work. I, and I'm sure everyone at IAP, appreciates it. Now grab an ice cold chocolate milk and a snickerdoodle.

Well you'll be happy to know that I slept late this morning and never even knew the site was off-line.:beauty:

As always, Jeff, thanks for your efforts. Most of us realize there is much that is unseen that keeps this site what it is. You, and the "Staff" are well deserving of our appreciation. Where can I send cookies? (No, not those...I mean the kind you eat!!!)

I just received confirmation that the Sophos had incorrectly categorized our site as malicious.

End of story! Thanks for your support, everyone.

So, I am sure they plan to reimburse you for the time and effort you put into solving their little "false alarm"!!

Thank you for your dedication, Jeff. Like the old saying, "One hot day does not a summer make", you might want to translate that to "One security alarm shall trigger no action---after half a dozen---THEN get worried".
