My father had a heart attack last Friday and has been in the hospital and has now had 2 open heart surgeries and 4 cardiac arrests in 8 days. Needless to say I've not been home or in my shop much, so when I had a few hours this morning I made him a pen to give him if he pulls through this.

Very best wishes for your Dad. The pen is cool, but please don't get distracted while working in your shop.
 
Darrin, prayer's going out for you, your dad, and whole family. Hopefully, he has a complete recovery, and that he gets lot of use out of the beautiful pen you've made him. Take care, and have a clear mind while in the shop. Be well!

Wonderful pen Darrin. Shop time can be a great source of stress-reduction. I pray that your Dad gets better quickly.
 
I wish the best for a quick healing for your father Darrin. Always remember, it's not if he pulls through this, but when. Never lose faith. Very nice pen and a great sentiment and gift for your father on his recovery.
 
That's a gorgeous pen! Sending more prayers for your dad, you, and your family! I'm sure saying this must be stressful is an understatement. Hope your lathe time was a little relaxing on the nerves.
