We were finally able to make the trip to Ohio and get the Maple Burls. That an old school friend had for me. Now... How to cut them up? 🤔

To paraphrase Forrest Gump: Burls are like a box of chocolates, you never know what's inside. I usually try and find the most likely bowl blank and open the burl with that blank in mind. From there you have the choice of how you want to proceed. I usually try to get the largest pieces, then stopper and pen blanks. Had a friend that said he sent his shirts to the laundry and got back handkerchiefs. You'll certainly find something useful for sure.
