Hey folk,
Im looking for a 1-7/8" Forstner bit and I also would like to get a 7mm brad point BUT I need a longer than normal size bit. I believe they are called "Jobbers" maybe 6 inch? Just long enough to try a single single barrel slim.

I would like to make a 1 piece Slim but don't know where to find both sizes I need at a reasonable price to save on shipping.

Any suggestions?????

PSI's 7mm brad point is long enough to do a 1 piece slimline. They are slightly longer than a standard bit. I think they give the dimensions on their website.

Jobber drills aren't that much extra long, you may want to look for 'aircraft' drills, but they won't be bradpoint. I have bought some odd sized drills from http://www.victornet.com/ and have been happy with them.

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked the sites and although they have the 7 mm bits I don't see any forstner bits.
I have a 1/4 inch bit long enough for the slimline but since I need it loose on the lower half of the pen will this provide enough " play" to turn?

Thanks Guys,
Just trying to see if there is 1 place I can get a 1-7/8 Forstner AND a 7mm longer bit for a single barrel slimline. I cant open the Enco site right now.

I can drive on over to Woodcraft and get the forstner for about 13.00 and the 7mm but they dont have a 7mm long(Bradpoint or not) enough for a single tube slimline. Is there another way to get this done? Or would I have to bite the bullet and pay for shipping twice????

Hey, what is your quote from about shooting their pistolas in the air. I like it!

It is a slight misquote from "The Three Amigos" The full original quote is

Then they got on their horses.

They rode all over the town,
shooting their pistolas up in the air.

And they called us
scum-sucking pigs.

Us!

That's funny. It was one of my favorite movies. One you can watch occassionaly and still laugh. I like martin short, never see him anymore though. Another old funny movie with him is "captain ron". It's pretty funny too.

Thanks Mike, I saw some forstner bits there but a little out of my price range. Looks like it getting to the point where I have to buy from two places.....

Havnt seen Captain Ron. But me and my boys will watch the Amigos at least once a week, used to be a nightly thing. My Daughter can recite the lines better than I can.
Another regular of ours is "Spaceballs". I had to eplain who Kernal Saunders was and the whole "Chicken" thing.
