From what I had, they called it Dalmation ebony. I think you could be refearing to stipped ebony or asian ebony, instead of having the usual pattern of straight/swirly grain, it has black spots like a dalmation. Hard to find and beautiful.
Jay, I just got back from a Google search. I assume you saw it on Ebay? If so, Dwain of Spa City Woodworks sells outstanding wood. I have never bought anything but great blanks from him.
I can see why you kept it. It is a unique piece. I'm going to see what I get when I google it under the names that you gave me. I was figuring on sharging $40.00/pen for these and I usually turn the Designer Twist pen. Thoughts?
I ussually charge 35.00 for a slimline and if it turns out to be an exceptional or really unique pattern, then they go to 45.00, this would have been 45.00
