This is unfortunately a rather expensive kit i bought from taylors mirfield called kappa. I used a piece of ash that i finished with walnut oil. The thing is that i damaged the cap during assembly; its not that bad but it annoys me ( the metal part at the finial is a bit bent inwards, i dont know if you can tell from the pictures) The other thing i wanted to mention is that the cap bushings are a bit bigger than the pen kit. This is the second kappa pen i have made and both have the same issue;at first i thought it was due to my negligence (although i remembered that i paid enough attention to detail because it was for the PITH swap with @Edgar ) but it happened again with this pen. You can easily notice that the cap is a bit under turned.
Anyway i will keep this one and next time i ll use my calipers
Cheers

That is a very attractive pen. Considering the tools I have for disassembly, and unfortunately the frequent need for it, this is a beauty that I would strongly consider disassembling, re-turning, and re-finishing (the cap blank that is).

Fortunately I only have one in my collection of "needs rework" at the moment. The CA finish developed that crazed look - kind of like how tempered glass looks when it "shatters".

Regards,
Dave

It's not noticeable that the cap is "caved in" for most, but I can see it only because I have that same kit here, only sold as a Jr. Anthony. I haven't decided what to pair it with yet, but I really liked the look of it, so I added it to my last order from EB.

As for how they line up, that's why I end up with TBC and calipers (not even high precision ones). which always gives me better results than bushings and definitely better tham with a mandrel. That's just what works for me.

The pen looks great. I think everyone on this site are their own biggest critic. I guess if there is a lesson, it's what Todd (Sorcerertd) commented - with more expensive kits, it may be a good idea to measure the kit components, and compare to the bushings, but the kit dimensions would be what to turn to. If the bushings line up with the kit dimensions, so much the better.
