Talk about making things hard on myself-----I drilled this blank 4 times before I got what I wanted---or the first three times I screwed up the blanks. Just depends on how I am telling the story. This is a CSUSA Artist Sketch Pencil done with Whitetail antler. This project was a entire days work.

I made an awl, cost of kit and wood about $12.00, plus time to turn. Pen kit, apx $10.00 plus wood and time.
New awls can be bought for $1.50. Shop pens are 39 cents.
I need to make one of those pens for myself.
Are we teched? [:0]
 
Brian they are Jewelry Tags that I get from a office supply store. I think they come in two sizes---that is the small one--you can write on both sides of the tag. After a show ---I have to replace a few they do fall off. I just aint seen anything I like better yet.

Good question.


I was in Staples last night and saw those same tags. I believe thay were $16.99 for 500.

Brian, I get mine online from a Jewelry accessory supplier for about $6 per 1000. http://www.jewelrysupply.com/noframes/pricetags.htm

Nice job, Gary, I really like the variety of color in that piece of antler!
