Curtis Seebeck and I spent the week at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN assisting Barry Gross with his mini lathe class focusing on pen making. I taught techniques for modifying pen kits and Curtis focused on stabilizing and dying wood for pen blanks. Curtis found some really "useless" wood on the property and took the class through the stabilization process using cactus juice and dyes. We all came home with a couple of really nice pen blanks. As soon as I make one into a pen i will post a picture. Here is a collage of the class and several of the pens made by the class members. What an awesome week!
Do a good turn daily!
Don

Thanks for sharing Don. Sounds like you and the students had a great week and the pens are really fine.
