This is another Arete fountain pen from Woodcraft. It's only available in chrome. The blank is called Urchin, and is also from Woodcraft. I had high hopes for this blank, but was a little disappointed. I expected it to be spectacular, but it's not quite. Still, not a bad looking pen.

I painted the hole and tube with blue paint. I think it darkened the blank.

Those new poly blanks look interesting. They must have the blank painted before turning. The thinner the blank is turned the less interesting the blanks become in my opinion. They are poly so they are chippy and new turners my wish to think twice about turning them. Just my opinion.

I've turned poly resin before that was as chippy as inlace acrylester, but this one wasn't chippy at all. It turned more like Alumilite than inlace.
