Tomorrow, I'll drive into Oklahoma City to have lunch at one of the best steak houses in the country "The Cattlemen Steak House" but that's not any reason to be jealous, it's who I'll have lunch with. We try to get together for lunch a few times a year(especelly when I need my end mills sharpened) yes you guessed it Paul Huffman better know as the man of vices and pen presses or PaulOKC. See ya tomorrow Paul :good:

I would happily forego the steak to try some of Diane's bread pudding. Paul would be a great meal companion, but I bet Diane could sure tell some stories about Roy.

I'm Jealous of any good steak.......Alaskans just dont know what to do with beef! Moose most definitely but not beef.

Hey, only 45 minutes away from me. While you are there, you are only about 6 blocks from Mckinley Hardwoods. The last time I was at cattleman's they made a point of telling me that it was the best Iowa corn feed beef they could get. I found it a bit ironic, but I understood since I am originally from Iowa. Of course, my meal partner was my Wife and she knows absolutely nothing about pens, so I am sure you will have more to talk about in that area.

If ya'll are jealous of anything it would be that I got to have lunch with Roy! Always a pleasure. And as usual, I get an in person view of one of his amazing creations!!

Well lunch was good and the company was great, got both my carbide end mills sharpened. During the conversation over one of the best burgers in this part of the country Paul and I struck a deal and I will be making an announcement soon. As most know any tool with the Paul Huffman name on it is top of the line in quality. Do I have your intrest?

If you had gone to the Cattlemen's Steak house a few years (maybe 20-25 or so) it's likely you could have been waited on by my mother... She was a waitress there off and on back in the '60's and '70's.... don't know that I ever had a meal in OKC, but I know I've been to the restaurant in a couple of other cities...

Hey, you are talking to the guy that routinely buys whole beef tenderloins, cuts a couple Chateaubriand for 2 and uses the rest for chili meat and hamburger. I'm glad your hamburger was good! I'm gonna go find a good rib-eye (or chicken fried tenderloin...)!

Steak House

Back a few years I went into a Steak House near Houston - I'm a prime rib guy so I ordered prime rib - they had several cuts with Western Names like 'tenderfoot' 'rancher' etc. when asked which cut I wanted I looked at the price and said "oh - cowboy I guess"....when they brought it out it was the sized of what we would have cooked for the whole family and a couple of neighbors. (We had 6 kids BTW). It was great but there sure was a lot of it went to waste because I was in a Motel with no refrigerator in the room to keep it in.

There's a resturant in Tulsa called The Pump, back in the early 90's it had one of the best Prime Rib's around and IIRC they had a 24Oz,16Oz and a 12Oz. was all I could do to finish that 24Oz. cooked just right Medium rare more to the rare side.

Farther back

I was in Houston in 1970 and again in 1971....that was before the USDA redefined prime and Prime Rib was really Prime. What is sold as Prime today would have been "good" then. This was before the got all wrapped around the axle about not eating too much animal fat.
