Does anybody here use Apple Tv? I've been thinking about buying one for the house, as right now I use my Xbox for Netflix. I was wondering if there are any fees involved other than the initial 99.00? Mainly want to use it to watch sports and Netflix.

We have had an Apple TV for ~1.5 yrs. We love it. It has the best Netflix interface that we have seen. Also if you have an ipad or ipod you can control it with them. No extra fees for Netflix, but if you buy an itunes movie or something of that nature it does cost extra. The only downside is that it does not play Amazon prime movies... yet.

I would not hold my breath for Amazon Prime on the Apple TV neither of them would want to give up or share an income stream.

Personally I would go back to renting from Blockbuster and watching broadcast TV before I gave Apple a dime. Just my opinion.

I have it and can say,at least for me, Netflix streaming works better with it than it did with my Samsung Blu-ray player's app.
Plus anything on your computer can be streamed to your tv using air media.
Also using the Crackle app works well and is free.
Beyond paying for Netflix, I refuse to pay for movies like HuluPlus etc.

My parents have it and they really love it. Like it a lot better after my older brother pointed out that it would work on Wifi.

I just jailbroke my apple tv and installed PLEX on it... it is absolutely fantastic. My PC is a Media Server and my Apple TV streams all the media to my TV. Other then the 99.00 initial investment and netflix/hulu fees there are no hiden costs.

We really like our Apple TV! We are thinking of getting another one for our exercise room. I highly recommend it!

Scott.
