I don't make many bowls, but found a piece of walnut with some sap wood that had broken off a live edge slab when I went to a local hardwood store. I bought a few other boards and he gave me this piece free since the slab had already been paid for. It's maybe 2-1/2" thick so I thought I would make some little bowls. Overall, I'm happy with it, though it could have used a little more sanding under the lip. Aussie Oil friction polish. Pen shown for size.

Nice bowl! Did you chuck it from the inside (mortise) or from the outside (tenon)?
Thanks. I chucked it with a worm screw to start the outside, put a tenon on the bottom to do the inside, then put the finishing touches on with a cole chuck.

The holes on this chuck line up perfectly with the Nova. For $22, I just had to widen the holes a tiny bit. Then either get longer screws or countersink slightly further in.
