I posted this in my "vow of silence" thread, but wanted to creat a new one to make sure everyone saw it:

I've broken my "vow" lately and have found myself arguing with others. I know it must have gotten annoying because an IAP friend PM'd me to say "lighten up". So here I am being accountable and publically apologizing. Sorry folks. And in either case, whether I am argumentative or not, please don't take anything I say personally. I am not here to offend and disrespect. We're all friends here, whether we agree or not, we'll always have at least one thing in common...

I don't want to clutter up your second thread on this, but I'll just say not to let a few people who's skin may be thinner than necessary change your personality. Squelching someone can be just as disrespectful as what they're considering you 'arguing'. I've known people who acted like I killed their dog when I suggest they have sanding lines in their pens which I could see plain as day.

Bottom line, don't bend over backwards to be someone you're not.

Apology accepted lol just kidding i didn't notice your posts you are talking about but don't worry about it it happens to the best of them.At least you have the courage to aplogize.

Stirring is ok as long as you take what you cook...we all need a little diversity at times. A good argument keeps the brain active!!!!

I'll never take a "vow of silence". When I disagree, I'll post....BUT I will always do it with respect to others, and NEVER make disparaging personal remarks.

The many different opinions and varying methods of accomplishing the same task is one of the things that makes this forum GREAT!

I have always been careful to show respect to others with opinions different to mine and I WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE THAT PRACTICE. I agree that there is a lot of "yah-yah" here, but no more than at any other public forum.

While I'm at it, I thank our moderators (Curtis, in particular) for their great patience and the diplomatic way they handle removing inapproiate items.

I know what you're saying. For me, there are times when it matters and times when it really doesn't. I just need to "choose my battles" more wisely. If it's something important, then sure, I'll still express my opinion on the matter. But I know I have seen others who are constantly posting an opposing opinion and it can get annoying. I don't want to be "that guy". As George stated in a different thread (quoting Dr. Phil, I believe), there are some who are "right fighters". Basically that means whatever the subject is, they will post their opinion with the belief that they are right and they will continue posting trying to prove that "I'm right and you're wrong", and usually it digresses from the actual subject of the thread and it just goes on and on... and on.
