Earlier this year I received a Newbie Box of blanks that were given away to new pen turners. ( I just started on pens last fall ). This resin blank was included in the box. Initially it didn't look all that fancy but it just got nicer and nicer as the pen progressed. I wish I new the maker of the blank, it turned beautifully and the resin has an almost burl effect. The kit is a stainless Apollo rollerball from Kate Harrow at Bullseye Turning Supply. The ends are black acrylic, Thuya burl, and aluminum bands. Thanks again for the blanks!

It looks exactly like Rhinoplastic Earth's Core turned, but RhinoPlastic blanks are made from polyester resin and are as such brittle and easily chipped, contrary to what you've said.
